Measuring ingredients by weight has a couple advantages for nomads:

  1. no need for multiple measuring cups/spoons
  2. easy conversion to half/third/quarter-size recipes

I use a 500g gram scale.

liquid measure

1c milk = 240g
1c water = 240g
1c vegetable oil = 214g
1c ketchup = 235g

1tsp yellow mustard = 5g

1TBS vinegar = 14.4g 1tsp vinegar = 6g

1tsp vanilla extract = 4.5g

solid measure

1c flour = 128g
1tsp flour = 2.6g
1Tbs flour - 7.8g

1c sugar = 215g
1tsp sugar = 4.2g
1Tbs sugar = 12.6g

1c brown sugar 220g

1c cornmeal = 123g

1tsp baking powder = 4g
1Tbs baking powder = 12g

1tsp baking soda = 7g
1Tb baking soda = 20gs

1tsp salt = 8g
1Tbs salt = 24g

1tsp ground black pepper = 2.3g

1tsp yeast = 4g
1Tbs yeast = 12g

1c chocolate chips = 160g
