2025 taxes

Wasn’t in any hurry to do taxes since I won’t have a refund. I used Free Tax USA, one of the sites recommended on the IRS websites. Painless except I originally submitted the RVwiki hobby income as 1099NEC originally; FTUSA wants it under Other Income. So a 60 second google and backtrack on that.

The VA benefit that funds most of my expenses is not taxable so my total 2025 income was $1,630. That number includes interest income and the the Amazon affiliate payouts that help recoup RVwiki hosting.

2026 and 2027

I have a little bit left in a 457. If I withdraw half in 2026 and half in 2027 I’ll still pay no income taxes because it will be under the personal deduction limit. If I wait until 2028 and I start social security in 2028 then I could end up paying a bit of tax on it.
