backchannel: do solar panels run loads?

Solar panels do not run anything in an RV

If

• the bank is charged
• a 500w load is running
• the panels are making ~500w
• and the shunt shows the battery bank is net-zero amps in/out

… what would you say is running the load?

Some controllers (Victron) tolerate removal of the battery bank in such a scenario. With the bank disconnected is it still running the load?

That’s the critical piece no matter what you want to do

It’s the critical piece when solar harvest no longer meets load requirements.
