arrived at Taos

the drive in

The remaining drive from Raton, NM to Taos, NM was relatively uneventful.

• there was some one-way construction, but I arrived just in time to follow the lead vehicle. Maybe 2mins delay.
• cows blocking the entrance to the forest road. They finally moooved.
• only one other camper on this FR so I got my pick of spots.

setting up camp

• Never been at this site before but I have 2 bars of ATT and one very functional bar of Verizon in the LTE router.
• direct sun from 1000 to 1600, which should be sufficient. It’s nice that it’s cool enough to sit in as much sun as I can gather.

On the latter point, Absorption was complete by 1030 as the alternator had done some lifting the past 24 hours. I’m baking tater tots in the toaster oven because the panels were twiddling their thumbs. And a 2# bag of tots is bulky in my little fridge. I’ll probably get three lunches and two breakfast burrito fillers out of it.
