Weekly errands in Los Alamos

A while back I mentioned I’m more willing now to drive into town every 7d instead of just every 14d. The recent improvement in my financial situation means I can burn a bit more gas than before without endangering my (and doggo’s) survival. :-)

Today was one of those 7d runs.

reprovisioning

Stopped at the local Smith’s first. Picked up some sale items and some discounted stuff. Their “click to accept wifi TOS” backend wasn’t working so I didn’t d/l anything. Might hit the library on my next run through town.

general delivery

Popped into the local PO to pick up two general delivery packages.

DV plates

I have one more package coming in GD; my DV plates that were mailed yesterday. Hopefully they come in by next Tuesday when my 14d are up. The nearby (contiguous AFAIK) Bandolier national monument is pay to play and Los Alamos is probably unamused by stealth campers.

BTW, having one’s vehicle registered in a small rural county instead of an urban area means a totally different DMV experience. It can actually be a friendly and pleasant interaction rather than a battle with bored and incompetent dullard-drones.

returning to camp

I didn’t hook up my portables when I came back to camp. I never tested the larger bank with morning-only solar exposure last year and this will be a good test case. The ports were already deployed last year when I installed the new bank.
