migrating RSS from feedly to inoreader
why RSS?
RSS makes it simple to follow many sources of information without wasted work or excessive bandwidth.
why an online RSS reader?
I like to run most things locally, but I don’t always have good connectivity or bandwidth. My journey has been TinyTinyRSS1 (run on my virtual server) -> feedly -> inoreader
Feedly has been rendering RSS feeds oddly lately. What is in the RSS feed is not what shows up in feedly. Hence the change.
why Inoreader?
I found Inoreader highly placed on many lists like AlternativeTo. I made an account and looked around; appeared to be reasonable.
OPML in/out should make the change frictionless.
the transition
export OPML from feedly
Feedly hides this function, which is sketch IMO.
import OPML to Inoreader
/slurp!
configure Inoreader
Inoreader is rendering the feeds that feedly was breaking. Win!
impressions of Inoreader
Inoreader has a limit of 150 feeds for the free version, and I am safely under that. It obeys feedly-style catch-up keyboard shortcuts which I greatly appreciate.
