day 29: test drive

running errands

I’d stocked up before the procedure but after a ~month the pantry was getting emptier. The last few days I’ve been feeling Normal so I decided to do some errands. The drive went well other than some discomfort when I forgot to slow down over rough patches of road…

The errands were

• walmart for groceries
• Cabela’s for some more .380 acp brass¹
• a mail store to drop off some call-tagged returns (a Dexcom sensor that failed, a Lingo sensor that failed, and a router).

the Spitz router

The router was my beloved Gl.iNet Spitz X3000. It’s monsoon season here in ELP and torrential rains caused a rapid series of power blackouts. After a couple hours troubleshooting I finally realized the WAN and LAN Ethernet ports seemed to have died. Since I was using those ports here in the apartment I swapped in the unused Opal.

I sent my troubleshooting data and screenshots to Gl.iNet, who promptly issued a call tag for it. I pulled the SIM out of Slot 1 and the physical eSIM out of Slot 2 and boxed it up. They’ve already said they’d ship out a replacement after my old was was received but I’ll update here with the final determination.
