death of an android tag tracker

Two died, actually.

I bought 8 Mili LiTags for android last spring when they were $10 each.

1. Google Find Hub lost it’s mind¹ on my phone and quit tracking the trackers
2. so I forgot about them and, Find being dead, was not notified of their dying batteries.²
3. I replaced the batteries but Find was still dead
4. I started resetting everything
   • many reboots and config checks
   • Find hub clear storage, uninstall/reinstall
   • Google Play clear storage
   • delete tags from Find
   • LiTag hard reset

Finally got 6 of the 8 to come back to life. To be fair, the ones that died were used in extreme conditions – one was in my wallet and the other was in the storage area of the scooter which gets really hot. So no hard feelings.

I looked them up for a re-order and saw they had dropped to $6 each in a four pack. Cool. And although I’ve been happy with them I looked around for any other options. Found KIUP tags

1. trying to change any options popped a super-helpful something has gone wrong toast. Good job, google coders. ↩

2. LiCB 2032 lasted about 6 months in them. I went to buy more but Amazon no longer carries them. ↩
