I’m going to stress test the pi4-based MythTV DVR with a healthy dose of Olympic coverage. I’ve never maxed out the 1TB SSD it uses for media storage so I’ve never seen Myth’s auto expire in action. I have shows on there that are a couple years old and will get deleted if the drive is filled.

events I want to watch

  • curling - I like any event where the symbol is a dude with a broom.
  • biathlon - or whatever the ski-and-shoot event is called nowadays. My hands are always shaky and I cannot imagine shooting accurately after serious cardio.
  • ski downhill
  • ski long jump
  • luge, skeleton - these people are crazy
  • ski mountaineering - to see what they are doing. I’d watch non-ski mountaineering, too.

events I might watch

  • figure skating - not into it but the athleticism is real
  • speed skating

events I won’t watch

I don’t like the “look at me!” events, so basically anything with freestyle in the name
