canceling mobile data

Spectrum cable internet1 has been working fine since the install. No complaints of any kind.

I’ve been using Visible2 for data in a router since 2022. I no longer need data in the van so I canceled Visible, effective in about a week when the current billing cycle ends. Visible was very good and I recommend that service for those needing coverage on the Verizon network.

data setup in the apartment

  • Spectrum internet -> WAN port of the router
  • Roamless eSIM3 -> slot 2 of the router
  • H2O Wireless in my carry phone. $100/year for text and voice, and a couple GB/month. I have never used more than a half-GB for any month since I am aggressive about using wifi when available.

update Jan 21

Visible turned off and the router failed over to the eSIM in Slot 2. It’s nice when things work as designed.

  1. HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Cable). IOW, fiber to the node then coax to the house.

  2. Visible is owned by Verizon but behaves like an MVNO.

  3. prepaid, non-expiring block of GB from AT&T / T-mobile
