new goodies

Today’s Amazon locker pickup was the last for Santa Fe: the Heltec V3 and the muzi antenna.

I shut down the T114, installed the muzi, and cranked it back up. Then got both of the V3 flashed and tested with the T114. One oddity: during setup I set both to frequency slot 20 and upon reboot both had changed to 19. Changed them back and they kept the right value. Weird.

personal LOS record

My boondocking spot is about 6500ft and with the new ant the T114 is directly reaching a node stationed at 10,653ft elevation 39.16 miles away as the crow flies. It’s wild that these little radios can talk so far away. A large part of it is the chirp spread spectrum modulation that can pick good data out of crazy noise.

software testing

Tried both Meshsense and the Meshtastic Network Management Client. Neither of them (or the web client) are great, but all are functional.
