backchannel: peak reddit vanlife

I have expressed my frustration with the reddit van-related subreddits. This recent example is the cherry on top:

• dude has a van with a reasonable power system (500w of panel, 200Ah of LFP, 2000w PSW). Based on the language used in the post it sounds like he bought it pre-built rather than building it out.
• he wants to run a $2,800 espresso machine but doesn’t understand whether or not his setup can power it (it probably can)
• even before knowing if his existing setup is sufficient his kneejerk instinct is to add a $900 Goal Zero 1000x power station

I wish GZ, et al, were publically traded so if the ignorant are determined to be fleeced we could at least make something off it.
