coyote gourd

At Brayard near the materials testing station was a wild melon-y looking thing.

I was hoping for an edible melon of some kind. It was very hard and difficult to cut with a sharp knife, and my tentative lick revealed it to be incredibly bitter.

Some google-fu afterwards suggests it’s coyote gourd and that the leaves smell bad at some times. I didn’t notice anything like that.
