missed opportunity: thrift store PowMr MPPT

I was at a thrift store last week that had one of the original power-supply-style 60A PowMR on the shelf. I suspect they are pretty rough but if I could pick it up for $5 or something I would have. I think there’s some promise here that could be tweaked: imagine a ~40A MPPT with no display, BT chip and generic app for <$100.

But:

  1. it had no price tag; and
  2. the store had a “no tag, no sale” policy; and
  3. and also would not tag the item in real time. Had to hand it in and it would be priced and reshelved at some future point.

I went on my snowbirdy way so someone else will snag it once it’s priced.
I wasn’t going to take my main array offline, but I could have tested my portables on it to see how it compared to some other known controllers.
