daily cardio: a hike eastward on King Rd

It rained all morning and Muffin was getting antsy. When it finally stopped we headed east on King Road, the graded dirt road that runs through the area.

On the way out we saw a small natural arch high up on on a hill to the north:

After a couple miles we came up on a flat spot:

I liked the spot but there was zero cell coverage so we gave up and turned back. Looking back westward toward camp some patches of blue were starting to show:

Back near camp I could hear running water and took a peek:

Down in that spot there is a lot of palo verde, the green-stemmed treelets, and other bushes. Up out of the spot there are cholla and succulents. The water situation varies enough in a few feet to make the flora quite different.
