My vehicle registration is up at the end of May.  Tx allows you to do it 90 days in advance and given the vagaries of mail forwarding I figured I should get started.

One of the complications I wasn’t looking forward to was the mandatory inspection problem - turns out it’s not a big deal if your vehicle is out of state.  You click that it’s out of state and continue.  The state flags your registration “inspection required” so if/when you come back to Tx you have a 3 days to get it dealt with.  Fair enough.

I think this is the first time I remember getting an online discount (-$1, see screenshot) instead of having to pay extra for doing it online.
