chirp via flatpak

“Debian testing” has remove python2, and chirp hasn’t been updated to use python3 yet.

You can use the repo version (from Feb 2020) or do it with flatpak. I have little experience with the latter (and wanted features not present from Feb); here’s how it’s done:

installPermalink

sudo apt install flatpak

sudo apt install gnome-software-plugin-flatpak

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

flatpak install chirp-daily-[yyyymmdd].flatpak

runPermalink

flatpak run com.danplanet.chirp

resultsPermalink

It works. Here is the tip of the memory iceberg; I float local freqs up to the top for easy maintenance. These freqs are for Quartzsite.
