Terrible zoom pic, but I was watering a shrub the other day.  I saw some motion nearby and I snapped to attention (have seen snakes in the area).

It was a ground squirrel breaking through to the surface from underground:

Hard to tell what he’s doing there but his head is out up to his ears and he’s looking toward the upper right of the pic.
