Recently Amazon had a sale on 23andMe genetic ancestry kits. I’d been kicking around the idea for a while and bit at the sale.
They have two sets, ancestry and ancestry+health. The latter is much more expensive. Apparently the DNA sample is stable for a few years so you can wait it out and have them add other tests later (or more likely run the test on the same genetic info).
Then I learned you can download your raw info from 23 and upload it to other places that can do analysis, too.
The results will be back in February 2019, I’d guess. Will update y’all then. No fair making a bracket on how much Neanderthal heritage I carry…
