shiny features like LOAD output

from this thread

I have always felt that the higher end controllers skipped the "look at the shiny features" like load terminals

I wasn’t aware that LOAD outputs were shiny features.  Seems pretty basic to me.

that hid the fact that you could set the load terminals but not custom set the controller itself.

I don’t know what that means.

In all the controllers I have been in, any that had configurable LOAD also had configurable charging setpoints.

A properly sized system with a properly set controller will keep you from getting to the point that you need a LVD. Pure and simple.

Here’s how I would put it:  Theorectically, a properly sized system with a properly set controller will keep you from getting to the point that you need a LVD.

The “pure and simple” addendum is a “because I said so” answer.  It suggests the author does not  or cannot integrate new information into their worldview.

Now how do you have a properly sized system without knowing what you need? That is a rough one because things change over time. You think you have it all figured out and then you add a booster or fridge and wipe out all that you have imagined.

Ahh, so it is not so pure and simple.

...spend the money on more solar rather than waste it on fancy toys and adjust from there.

That’s my approach, too.

...if a amp counter says you didn't put enough amps back in, you didn't need a amp counter. You needed to spend the money on more solar.

Right on.  I think this a lot but keep it to myself.  Folks like to spend money on “stuff.”  Reminds me of golfers that keep buying $$$ equipment rather than improving their skills.
